We were delighted to receive an invite to Harlow College’s Renewable Energy Training Centre Open Day; our Marketing Manager Carol McKenzie and David Fox attended with two of our current apprentices Finn and Lewis. Feeling privileged to be working closely with the College and the exciting opportunities this will bring to HTS.

In association with Mitsubishi Electric Heating UK the Training Centre was officially opened this afternoon by The Rt Hon Robert Halfon MP and Russell Dean, Residential Product Group Director at Mitsubishi Electric alongside Principal Karen Spencer and Deputy Principal Will Allanson.

The centre was conceived and designed in association with Mitsubishi and houses 6 Ecodan air source heat pumps, is powered by solar panels, has electric energy storage systems and electric vehicle charging points. The energy from the solar panels is enough to power the Centre, with the surplus being put back into the National Grid. A huge step towards achieving our goal of net zero carbon emissions by 2050 and equipping our learners with the skills required to install greener home heating solutions in readiness for government legislation that will require new builds to have an alternative to a gas fired boiler by 2025.
