In November, as we approach remembrance Sunday HTS parks & Landscapes department plant and prepare 3 of Harlow’s war memorials and cut the grass areas around the Town Park and Burmese Star memorials.

War memorials enable people to remember and respect the sacrifice of those who fought, died, participated or were affected by conflicts. The memorials are also an important source of information for young people in understanding the sacrifices made by past generations

This year we have planted a selection of winter pansies and have taken the opportunity to mulch the bedding with some of the wood chippings produced by our Arboricultural team, our ‘Tree Gang’! This will all help suppress weed growth, preserve water, and keep the plants looking good throughout the winter.
